The property has not been previously connected to city utilities and is subject to the Utility Extension Ordinance No. 90-2837 which requires that in order for property to be connected to the existing water and sewer mains that such property must be platted and certain connection fees must be paid in order to connect to the existing main. The cost of those connections were paid in 1966 by a developer of a subdivision north of the property. Due to this fact, the request for a waiver of the fees was recommended by Mr. Hogge. A clause in the ordinance gives the Council authority to do so. Motion to waive the fees and exempt the property from the platting requirements for this specific occasion was made by Councilmember Medlin Carpenter, duly seconded by Councilmember Barbara Dorman, and carried by a vote of six ayes.
