HomeMy WebLinkAbout92 0618 min222 WORK SESSION MINUTES June 18, 1992 The City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas, met in a Work Session on Thursday, June 18, 1992, at 11:30 p.m. at the Plainview Municipal Country Club. Mayor E. V. Ridlehuber presided. Councilmembers present were: Alton Jackson - Precinct 1; Mary Virginia Kirchhoff Precinct 2; Medlin Carpenter - Precinct 4; Barbara Dorman Precinct 5; Dwain Dodson - Precinct 6; and Irene Favila - Precinct 7. Absent was Don Dickson - Precinct 3. Staff present were: James P. Jeffers City Manager; Wally Hatch City Attorney; Roy Osborne - Director of Public Safety; Diane Groh - Director for Community Services; Terry Powers Director of Human Resources; Barbara Sullivan - Municipal Court Judge; Carl Holland - Parks Department Superintendent; and Karen McBeth - City Secretary. Mayor Ridlehuber called the meeting to order. The Council reviewed the following agenda for the upcoming meeting of June 23, 1992. OPEN MEETING 1. Invocation - Medlin Carpenter 2. Recognitions 3. Oath of Office - Boards, Committees and Commissions. Condemnation - Ordinance No. 92-2923. An Ordinance of the City of Plainview, Texas, authorizing the condemnation of private property to be used for the purpose of a public road; Severability clause; Cumulativeness clause; Conflicts clause; And effective date. Pa~ksIDuck Pond - Review of plans to open for fishing (Travis Truss,Il). 6. Bids - Sanitation/Landfill - Consideration of award of bids on fencing. Mr. Jeffere handed out a copy of a code of ethics for the Council's perusal, so they may formulate recommendations for discussion at a future date. Seth Ward Water - The City Attorney has written a letter to those in the Longacres Addition that they will be required to put up water deposits, if they are using City water. Waste Management Enfo~eement Grant - The state is allocating money to hire individuals to "police" solid waste ordinances and issue citations for violations. Grant money will be available I'or three years, depending on availability of funds and success of the program. Mayor Ridlehuber declared the meeting adjourned at 1:07 p.m. E. V.
