ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING

*The meeting was called to order by President Gary Stennett. Gary gave the opening prayer.
*The Minutes of the November meeting were approved as presented.
*Nicole Russell was introduced as a new board member. The other new member, Lori Durham was unable to
attend today.
*Irma gave the financial reports for September, October, November and December. They were accepted as
presented.
*Irma reported three grant reports were submitted on time in January. She has applied for $5,000 Augmentation
fund which will need to be spent by the end of March.
*Texas is now part of the South Central Region with headquarters in Austin. Irma reported that Zoom meetings
have resumed.
*The 4711 Annual Recognition Banquet Drive-Thru was a success. The cost was $6,177.68 which was more than in
past years, but the volunteers were pleased with their gifts.
*As part of the 2021 National MILK Day of Service handwritten inspirational cards were given to nursing home
residents. RSVP has received 4,560 masks from Ford Motor Company to give out.
*The City Council has made the following board appointments: Bobbye Dennis, Lori Durham, Dorothy Russell,
Nicole Russell and Gail Thrasher with terms ending December 31, 2023.
*Irma will be working on surveys for Meals on Wheels and FISH recipients.
*Discussion followed about the distribution of COVID vaccines in Plainview and Hale County.
*Irma announced that she plans to retire on July 1"
*Volunteer report for September showed a total of 349 volunteers with 177 serving 3558 hours. October showed
a total of 342 with 163 serving 3288 hours. November snowed a total of 339 with 152 serving 3016 hours.
December showed a total of 337 with 163 serving 3232 hours.
*Next meeting will be March 9, 2021.
*Meeting was adjourned.
