MINUTES
The Plainview City Council met in Work Session on Thursday,
December 17, 1987, at 11:30 9. m., at K-Bob's Restaurant, with
Mayor E.V. Ridlehuber presiding. The following Councilmembers
were present: Terry Clements~ Don Dickson, Bobby James, Barbara
Dorman, Junior Brown, and Tom Aday. Councilman Alton Jackson was
absent.
Staff present were: Mike McDonough, Director
Services; Bill Hogge, Director of Public Works;
Chief of Police; and City Secretary Carla Reese.

EMS FRANCHISE. Mike McDonough, Director of Municipal Services,
presented the EMS Franchise Ordinance, noting we had no additional
information from Don Pruitt o~ the Plainvi~w Ambulance Service.
Councilwoman Barbara Dorman suggested we contact Don Pruitt of the
Plainview Ambulance Service, to see if he had any additional
information on the liability insurance. Proposed EMS Franchise
Ordinance will be submitted at the City Council Meeting on January
12, 1988, for adoption.

9th Streets. Councilman Bobby James suggested to turn off the
street lights on the West s~de of Ash Street. Councilmembers
agreed to have City Staff turnoff the recommended street lights.

1987.

CALENDAR. SUCH OBJECTION MAY BE RECORDED ANY TIME PRIOR TO THE
TAKING OF A VOTE ON THE MOTION TO APPROVE THE CONSENT CALENDAR.

WHICH THEY ARE OBJECTED TO, IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE

the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas discontinuing
certain street lights on Broadway and llth Streets."
e) STREET LIGHTS. Resolution No. R87-312. "A Resolution of
the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas discontinuing
certain street lights at the Intersection of U.S. 70 and the 1-27
Service Roads."
f) GUARD LIGHT. Resolution No. R87-313. "A Resolution of
the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas discontinuing a
guard light located in the alley between the police station and
city hall."
g) LICENSE PLATE STATUS. Resolution No. R87-314. "A
Resolution of the Mayor and the City Council of the City of
Plainview, Texas, authorizing the Plainview Police Department to
apply for regular license's plate status for certain exempt
vehicles used by the departments that qualify under Vernon's
Annotated Civil Statutes Article 6701m-1 or 6701-m-2 in accordance
with the requirements of this Legislation and House Bill No. 763;
directing the City Secretary to send a certificate of this
Resolution to the State Department of Highways and Public
Transportation; declaring findings of facts; and providing an
open meetings clause."

R87-315. "A Resolution of the Mayor and the City Council of the
City of Plainview, Texas, appointing and reappointing various
individuals to serve on the various boards, con~nissions and
committees of the City of Plainview."

j) PRELIMINARY PLAT. Resolution No. R87-316. "A
Resolution of the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas
approving the preliminary plat of City Addition, Unit No. 2,
Plainview, Hale County, Texas."
k) FINAL PLAT. Resolution No. R87-317. "A Resolution of
the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas approving the
final plat of City Addition, Unit No. 2, Plainview, Hale County,
Texas."
There being no further business, Mayor Ridlehuber adjourned the
Meeting at 12:50 p.m.
