HomeMy WebLinkAboutRSVP Minutes 06-08-2021The Runningwwater Draw RSVP Advisory Council Meeting June 8, 2021 MEMBERS PRESENT STAFF PRESENT Gary Stennett Bobbye Dennis Irma Shackelford Elsa Cooper Emma Herring Becca Gloyna Nicki Logan Sally Phillips Dorothy Russell Tara Walker *The meeting was called to order by Chairman Gary Stennett. Nicki Logan gave the opening prayer. *The minutes of the April meeting were approved. *Irma gave the financial report for April which was accepted as presented. *AmeriCorps Seniors Virtual Convening 2021 Sessions start on June 9, and each following Wednesday throughout this month from 12:00pm-3:00pm. *Gary and Tara are interviewing applicants for the RSVP Director position. *Irma read a thank you card from Freda Provence. *Irma visited with the Warden's Administrative Assistant, Catherine Mears about starting back with the "My Dad Reads to Me" Program. *The Advisory Council will need to recruit 3 new members to replace Norvene Owen, Joe Provence, and Gail Thrasher. *Operation Serve, the 6th Annual City -Wide Cleanup Day Will take place Saturday, June 26th. RSVP will participate in a Hike and Bike Trail clean up at 10:00am. *The Red White & Moo Milk Fest will be held on Friday July, 2"d from 6:00pm-8:00 pm at Kidsville before the Chamber fireworks. * The Covenant Health Hospital Auxiliary have returned back to volunteering today. *J&J Nursery donated a variety of tomato plants, squash, _cucumbers, and peppers. All of the garden plots have been filled at the 28th St. and Baltimore St community gardens. *Irma suggested bringing back the contest for individuals who sign up the most volunteers and also the station with the most volunteers sign up. * The July and August newsletter are underway. *Reviewed the 121h Annual Golf Tournament fundraiser and contract. *Review resuming other activities; Recognition (Plainview and Littlefield), Breakfast with Santa, and Christmas Open House was discussed. *Starting a Volunteer Spotlight vs. Volunteer of the Month was discussed. *Becca read the Volunteer Report.for April.
