MINUTES The Plainview City Council met in Work Session on Thursday, January 8, 1987, at 11:30 a.m. at the Plainview Club. Mayor Ridlehuber presiding and the following Councilmembers present: Alton Jackson, Terry Clements, Don Dickson, Bobby James, Barbara Dorman, Junior Brown and Tom Aday. Staff present: City Manager Jim Jeffers, Director of Municipal Services Mike McDonough, Director of Public Works Bill Hogge, Chief of Police Roy Osborne, and City Secretary Sheryl Owen. Visitors present: Richard Orr - Plainview Daily Herald. Human Relations Commission. City Manager Jim Jeffers explained to the Council the status of the Human Relations Committee. It was the consensus of the Council to set up a special meeting for the interviews. Jim Jeffers informed the Council he would set up said meeting and inform the Council of the time and date. Post Office. City Manager Jim Jeffers spoke about putting political pressure for the new Post Office. It was consensus of the Council to push for said Post Office. Cable T.V. Performance Review. City Manager Jim Jeffers explained to the Council the public hearing that will be held on the Cable T.V. services which is held every five years to review the Cable T.V. Service. Zoning For Alcoholic Beverages. City Manager Jim Jeffers explained the density requirements and the creation of new zones for alcoholic ~eVerages to the Council. It was consensus of the Council to go ahead with the hiring of a consultant to study the zoning ordinance and make no zoning changes until after this has been done. City Manager Jim Jeffers introduced the Agenda for the City Council Meeting to be held on January 13, 1987: Consideration on final reading Ordinance No. 86-2682, entitled, "An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 82-2478 and the official zoning map of the City of Plainview so as to make the following changes: Zone Case No. 545; request of Rex Ramsower, for amending the zoning on three (3) tracts of land totaling 9.626 acres with a CRD (Commercial Retail District) zoning district by adding a restriction prohibiting multi-family residential uses and located in the 1200-1400 Blocks of Interstate No. 27." 1 of 3 7 i .... ¥1q~lTli-"]'"~ll~r' Consideration on final reading Ordinance No. 86-2683, entitled, "An Ordinance amending Ordinance No. 82-2478 and the official zoning map of the City of Plainview so as to make the following changes: Zone Case No. 546; request of Lon Miller and Lubbock Poster Company for rezoning of the railroad right-of-way along Dimmitt Road (from Quincy Northwest to the Plainview City limits) from R-1 (Single-Family Residential) zoning district to a CGB (Commercial General Business) zoning district and located in the 2000-3100 Blocks of Dimm~tt Road."
