4th Street, Plainview, Texas. The agenda for this meeting was posted in City Hall at
11:29 a.m. on May 15, 2006. Mayor John C. Anderson presided. Councilmembers
present were: Kelvin Tipton-District 1, Mary Jane Shanes-District 2, Belinda Pena-
District 3, John N. Bertsch-District 4, Ron Trusler-District 5, Wendell Dunlap-District 6
and Roland Nash-Distdct 7.
Staff members present were: Greg Ingham-City Manager, John Castro-Director of
Community Services, Paula Hedrick-Main Street Manager, Brice Clements-Engineer,
Gary Glass-Fire Chief, Dale Simpson-Director of Civil Service, Leslie Pearce-City
Attorney, Will Mull-Police Chief, Jack Keller-Budget Manager, John Berry-Director of
Public Works and Belinda Hinojosa-City Secretary.
Guests Present were: Cathy Waggoner, Janie Ramirez, Heriberto Gonzalez, Mary
Roddguez, Mark Hardin, Tom King, Don Dickson, Florence Salazar, Perfecto Pena,
Carol Pena and Jeri Strange

Councilmember Trusler delivered the invocation
The Council and staff reviewed the agenda for the City Council meeting of May 23,
2006.
Councilmember Trusler left the meeting at 12:26 p.m.; Mayor Anderson left the meeting
at 12:32 p.m. and Councilmember Pena left the meeting at 12:48 p.m.
Paula Hedrick, Main Street Coordinator presented information on the Community
Branding Program. She stated the group came up with a positioning statement as
follows: Plainview's ideal location, proactive attitude, and spirit of cooperation creates
an atmosphere of opportunity perfect for growing successful business, raising families,
and entertaining tourist. She also presented Plainview's branding logo.
There being no further business, Mayor Pro Tem Bertsch adjourned the meeting at 1:15
p.m.
