HomeMy WebLinkAbout90 0710 minCITY COUNCIL MEETING JULY 10, 1990 MINUTES The Plainview City Council met in Regular Session on Tuesday, July 10, 1990, in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor E.V. Ridlehuber presiding. Councilmember present were: Alton Jackson, Mary Virginia Kirchhoff, Don Dickson, Barbara Dorman, Dwain Dodson and Ross Owen. Councilmember Medlin Carpenter was absent. Staff Present: Mike McDonough, Director of Municipal Services; David Blackburn, City Attorney; Bill Hogge, Director of Public Works, Roy Osborne, Director of Public Safety; Norman Huggins, Director of Finance; Rolando Vela, Administrative Assistant and Carla Reese, City Secretary. News Media present: Richard Orr - Plainview Daily Herald. Guest Present: Ruth Weidenbach, Susan Wilson, Barbara Parker, James Robison and David Wilder. Mayor E.V. Ridlehuber delivered the invocation. Mayor E.V. Ridlehuber welcomed the guest. Public Hearing - Zone Case No. 566. Request of Richard Watson on behalf of the Plainview Independent School District for rezoning of a tract of land containing 1.55 acre tract out of the Northwest quarter of Survey No. 34, Block JK-2, Hale County, Texas, from a R-1 (Single-Family Residential) Zoning District to a C-2 (Retail District) Zoning District for use as a day care center and located at 2305 Yonkers. Mike McDonough, Director of Municipal Services reviewed Zone Case No. 566. Motion was made by Councilmember Don Dickson to call a public hearing. Motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Ross Owen and carried by a unanimous vote. There were no persons speaking in opposition or in favor of Zone Case No. 566. Motion was made by Councilmember Barbara Dorman to close the public hearing. Motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Dwain Dodson and carried by a unanimous vote. Mayor E.V. Ridlehuber presented the following Consent Calendar for approval. a) Minutes b) Department Reports c) Budget Expenditures d) Texas Parks and Wildlife Department - Grant Programs. Resolution No. R90-159. A Resolution of the City of Plainview, Texas, designating certain officials as being responsible for, acting for, and on behalf of the City of Plainview in dealing with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for the purpose of 1 of 2 O0 participating in the grant programs; certifying that the City of Plainview is eligible to receive assistance under such programs. Motion was made by Councilmember Ross Owen to adopt the Consent Calendar as stated. Motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Dwain Dodson and carried by a unanimous vote. Adjournment. Motion was made by Councilmember Barbara Dorman to adjourn. Motion was duly seconded by Councilmember Ross Owen and carried by a unanimous vote. There being no further business Mayor E.V.
