HomeMy WebLinkAbout90 0730 minFIFTH MONDAY MEETING JULY 30, 1990 MINUTES The Fifth Monday Meeting was held on Monday, July 30, 1990, at 7:00 P.M., at the Golden Corral Restaurant. Present were Mayor E.V. Ridlehuber, Councilmembers Ross Owen, Don Dickson, Mary Virginia Kirchhoff, Dwain Dodson and Medlin Carpenter. Councilmembers absent were Alton Jackson and Barbara Dorman. City Manager James P. Jeffers was also present. Present from Hale County were: Judge Bill Hollars, Commissioners Nina Morris, Henry Reiff, James Belk, Homer Robertson and County Auditor Jackie Latham. Present form Hale Center were: Councilmembers Eugene Carter, Bob Stroud, R.W. Waller, and Allen White. Present from Abernathy were: Mayor J. Pete Thompson, and Councitmembers Bill Elliott, Carl Johnson, Tommy Overstreet, Elias Vecchio, and City Manager Frank Russell. The City of Abernathy led in a discussion of County subsidies for transfer station operations. James Belk expressed concern about the Underground Water Conservation District vote, and the "blackmail" tactics of the State. Belk noted that if the election did not pass that cities and counties would not be eligible for grants and low interest loans from the Texas Water Commission nor the Texas Water Development Board. There being no further business Mayor Ridlehuber adjourned the meeting at 8:45 P.M. Passed and Approved this 14th day of August, 1990. ATTEST: C~rla Reese, City Secretary
