Call to Order: Ranada Jack, President Time: 12:02 p.m. Board Members Present: Tonya Keesee, Jordan Hrbecek, John Turpen, Ranada Jack, Carol Terrell, Diane Martinez, Jay Givens, and Phyllis Wall. 2. November Board Minutes: Jordan Hrbacek made a motion to approve the October Board minutes The 2nd: was voiced by Tonya Keesee. The motion passed with a 7-0 vote. 3. Staff Updates: Melinda Brown, Main Street Director reported: a. Meeting cancelations, dates and progress in regard to COVID-19. b. Fapade Grant is open for applications until Friday, February 281" @ 5 p.m. The applications will be presented to the Main street Board @ the April meeting to approve selected grant applications. c. The Streetscape is on schedule with the irrigation and landscaping to go in on the 700 block -East side soon. They are working on the Hale County Courthouse-500 Block -East side and the 600 Block -East side, all on Broadway. d. The Merger of the Plainview Downtown Association and Main Street is continually progressing. One of the areas to be included is the "Friends of Downtown." The Main Street Board will strategically look at the structure in March or April 2021. e. The Main Street Board was encouraged to support and be a voice as the Champions of the City of Plainview 'Historic Standards.' Tori Huddleston, Main Street Special Projects Manager, reported: a. Two of the Main street Board meetings fall on National Holidays, July and September. The group selected to meet the second Monday of July and September. 4. Business Appreciation Day Tori Huddleston reported that she has peanut patties for business owners labeled with "2020 was nuts, thanks for sticking together." The board will deliver these in February as an appreciation to our downtown business owners. 5. Committees: a. Imaging and Branding Tonya reported that Melinda Brown and she would meet with Walcot Studio of Canyon, Texas, and then present suggestions to the committee and ultimately bring to the Main Street Board Spring of 2021. b. Dining & Entertainment Carol Terrell shared that the committee had to cancel their earlier events and are waiting for the City of Plainview to open and release community partnership opportunities. 6. Promotion/Upcoming Events: a. 2nd Saturday Ranada Jack of Santa's Mercantile and More is the February 2nd Saturday sponsor and share her plans for a fun day #outonthedowntown Her theme is "Queen of Hearts." Tori Huddleston shared that she has contacted the March 2nd Saturday sponsor, Heart's Desire, and is waiting to hear back from them. 7. CVB Report a. Melinda Brown reported that the community "GO BIG" event is scheduled for May 14-15-16, 2021. b. Melinda offered volunteer opportunities for the MS Board to be involved. Torri will follow up with these as the date gets closer. 8. New Business a. Carol Terrell, Foundation Director, for Covenant Health Plainview, shared an event happening Saturday, April 241", 10-12, "Sugar Run." She asked for volunteers to host a downtown stop. The event is an hour -and -a -half Diabetes awareness opportunity that will bring, motorcycle and car clubs into a fun and educational drive with stops around the area, including Downtown Plainview. b. Tonya Keesee reported that the City of Plainview along with the Hale County Economic Development Corporation distributed a housing survey. It can be found on the Plainview Chamber of Commerce Facebook page. c. Melinda suggested that each MS board member create a list of 5 priorities for the future of downtown. d. John Turpen asked if those opening new business downtown would be included in the TIRZ Grant process. Main Street Director, Melinda Brown, responded affirmatively. 9.
