CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 00 028 COUNCIL CHAMBERS City Hall Plainview, Texas The City Council of the City of Plainview met in a special meeting at 9:00 A.M. in the Council Chambers of City Hall with Mayor Bob Wayland presiding and the following Councilman present: Carl Tillerson-Place One, Lloyd Woods-Place Three, Tom Almon-Place Four and Tom Aday-Place Five. In addition, the following City Staff were present: John Hatchel- City Manager, Tom Hamilton-City Attorney, Bill Hogge-Director of Public Works and Randy Holly-Administrative Assistant. Also present were the following visitors: Jim Davis, Charles Bechtold. and Buddy Baker. The Invocation was given by Bill Hogge. Mayor Wayland presented the agenda item from the recount committee, concerning the recount of the April 5, 1980 Mayor's Election. Mayor Pro Tem, Lloyd Woods presented the results of the recount committee as follows: Bob Wayland Medlin Carpenter PrecinCts 1,'6; i0 661 514 PrecinCtS 71 8 955 972 Absentee "~ 111 159 TOTAL 1,727 1,645 In addition, the Committee recorded thirteen (13) write-in votes. It was moved by Alderman Tillerson seconded by Alderman Almon to accept the report of the recount committee. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Wayland '~eg~S~ed his position with the Council and presented Resolution No. R80-240 adjusting rates for special services rendered under the engineering contract with Parkhill, Smith & Cooper Inc. dated March 13, 1979 and authorizing pre- paration of plans and specifications for construction of the playa lake drainage ditch and inverted siphon across said ditch. It was moved by Alderman Woods seconded by Alderman Almon to approve Resolution R80-240. Motion carried unanimously. The Mayor and City Council considered Resolution No. R80-241 authorizing extention of the 1979 Street paving contract with High Plains Pavers, Inc. to include ~.~ installation of culvert structure across east Third street in Plainview, Texas. It was moved by Alderman Almon seconded by Alderman Tillerson to approve Resolution No. R80-241. Motion carried unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 9:30 A.M. j~i[~ALTF. R S.
