HomeMy WebLinkAbout81 0609 minPLAINVIEW CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING June 9, 1981 7:30 Minutes O0 -08 COUNCIL CHAMBERS City Hall The City Council of the City of Plainview met in regular session at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of City Hall with Mayor Pro-Tem Lloyd Woods presiding and the following Councilman present: Carl Tillerson-Place One, Andy Taylor-Place Two, ~nd Tom Almon-Place Four. The following Staff members were present: John Hatchel-City Manager, Joe Ferguson- Director of Fire Services, Johnnie Ballew-Director of Public Safety, Harold Gladman- Director of Planning, Tom Hamilton-City Attorney, Bill Hogge-Director of Public Works, Buddy Dodson-City Clerk, Alan Stewart-Director of Police Services, Randy Holly-Admin- istrative Assistant, and Sheryl Owen-Administrative Secretary. Tony Luna, Leon Alcozer, JimDavis, Percy McGee, Brenda Gambrell, Jessie McGee, Dorothy Weil, Leo Weil, Augustin Rey, Jr. Invl0cation was given by Lloyd Woods. Minutes of the City Council Regular Meeting, May 26, 1981 and the City Council Work Session, June 4, 1981 was presented. It was moved by Alderman Almon seconded by Alderman Tillerson to approve the minutes. Motion carried unanimously. The Councilman presented the Service Pins to the employees who have been with the City of Plainview Twenty Years, Fifteen Years and Ten Years. It was moved by Alderman Tillerson seconded by Alderman Almon to remove from Tabled, Resolution No. R81-395 approving the final plat of Pressler Addition, Unit No. 1, Plainview, Hale County, TexaS. Bill Hogge explained the Resolution. It was then moved by Alderman Almon seconded by Alderman Tillerson to approve it. Motion carried unanimously. Zoning Ordinance No. 81-2451 on final reading, reclassifying from R-1 (Single Family Residential) to 'M-H' (Mobile Home Park) a 19.78 acre tract out of the South 1/2 of the Northeast quarter of Survey No; 35, Block JK-2 and calling a public hearing on June 23, 1981 at 7:30, in the City Council ChambeFs. Request of Lon D. Cartwright. Zone Case #447. Mr. Gladman explained, the Planning & Zoning Board recommended approval of this ordinance It was moved by Alderman Tillerson seconded~ by Alderman Taylor to approve the ordinance and call a public hearing on June 23rd. Motion carried unanimously. Resolution No. R81-398 appropriating $660 from the Street Improvements Fund Acct. No. 7 as p]ayment to David Julian for services performed in conjunction with the 1981 Assess- ment Paving Project. Bill Hogge explained. It was moved by Alderman Almon seconded by Alderman Tillerson to approve the Resolution. Motion carried unanimously. Resolution No. R81-399 authorizing City National Bank ~o substitute securities in the amount of $345,000 was presented. John Hatchel explained. It was moved by Alderman Taylor seconded by Alderman Tillerson to approve the resolution. Motion carried unanimously June 9,. 1981 O0 O3? l~age Two Minutes from Boards & Committees were presented: a) Electrical Examiners Meeting, May 28, 1981. b) Pianning& Zoning Meeting, May 28, 1981. No action taken. Energas Report on the cost of gas for its West Texas System for the Month of April was presented. No action was taken. Budget expenditures were presented for~approval. It was moved by Alderman Almon seconded by Alderman Tillerson to approve the expenditures. Motion carried unanimously. It wasmoved by Alderman Tillerson seconded by Alderman. DODSON, City Clerk PLAINVIEW CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION June 9, 1981 11:30 a.m. 00 K-Bob ' s Plainview, Texas MINUTES The City Council of the City of Plainview met in a special Work Se~'sion at 11:30 a~m; at K-Bob's Restaurant with Mayor Wayland presiding and the following Councilman present: Ca~l Tillerson-Place One, Lloyd Woods- Place Three, Tom Almon-Place Four and Tom Aday-Place Five. Also present were the following members of the Staff: John Hatchel- City Manager, Norman Huggins-Director of Finance, Harold Gladman-Director of Planning, Bill Hogge-Director of Public Works, and Randy Holly-Administrative Assistant. Also present,.the~'following visitors: Buddy Baker, Pam Baker, and Brenda Gambrell. John Hatchel-City Manager, presented the agenda for the Regular City Council Meeting to be held on Tuesday, June 23, 1981. A lengthly discussion followed, however, no action was taken.
