HomeMy WebLinkAbout81 0728 minPLAIBVIEW CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING July 28, 1981 Minutes COUNCIL CHAMBERS City Halloo 04 The City Council of the City of Plainview met in regular session at 7:30 p.m. with Mayor Bob Wayland presiding and the following Councilman present: Carl Tillerson- Place One, Andy Taylor-Place Two, Tom Almon-Place Four, and Tom Aday-Place Five. The following staff members were present: Norman Huggins~Director of Finance, Alan Stewart-Director of Police, Johnnie Ballew-Director of Public Safety, Bob Richards- Building Inspector, Bill Hogge-Director of Public Works, Buddy Dodson-City Clerk, Randy Holly-Administrative Assistant, and Sheryl Owen-Administrative Secretary. The.following visitors'-were-present: ~Jim Davis, Tony Luna, Charles Bechtold, Buddy and Pam Baker. Invocation was given by Mayor Wayland. Minutes of the City Council Regular Meeting held July 14, 1981 and City Council Work Session held July 23, 1981 were presented. It was moved by Alderman Aday seconded by Alderman Almon to approve the minutes. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Wayland presented Zoning Ordinance No. 81-2452, on first reading, reclassifying from R-2 (Single Family Residential) to C.M.S. (Neighborhood Service District) the West 56 ft. of Lots 7 & 8, Block 74', Alexander-Westmoreland Addition (same being located at 606 W. 7th), and calling a Public Hearing on August i1, 1981 at 7:30 p.m., in the City Council Chambers. Request of Chris Reecer. (Zone Case No. 449). Bob Richards explained the zone case. It was moved by Aldermant ordinance on first reading and call a pub! Mayor Wayland presented Zoning Ordin~ from R-1 (Single Family Residential) to "~ 2, Ridgecrest Addition (same being locate~ ~lmon seconded by Alderman Aday to approve the ic hearing. Motion carried unanimously. Ace No. 81-2553, on first reading, reclassifying 'H" (Townhouse) Lots 59, 40, 41, and 42, Unit No. [ in the 200 Block of S. Itasca Road) and calling a Public Hearing on August 11, 1981. Request of Randall Kidd. (Zone Case No. 430) Bob Richards explained the zone case. It was then moved by Alderman Aday seconded by Alderman Tillerson to approve the ordinance on first reading and call a public hearing. Motion carried unanimouSly. Mayor Wayland presented R~$~iu~i~o.~RSl~15 d~c~ar~ng-~intent to, acquire certain parcels.in conjunction with the.1978=80 Community Development Storm Drainage Project· Randy Holly explained. It was then moved by Alderman Almon seconded by Alderman Tillerson to approve the ordinance. Motion :carried Mayor Wayland presented Resolution ~ E. & E. Givens Park and authorizing payme~ Arrtco Tennis Systems, Inc. Randy Holly seconded by Alderman Tillers0n to approve Mayor Wayland presented Ordinance..No of West 28th street to Red Oak Lane. Jo~ manimously. · R81-416 accepting the Multi-purpose Courts in t in full in the amount of $47,247.34 to ~xplained. It was then moved by Alderman Taylor the resolution. Motion carried unanimously. 81-2452 providing changing the name of a portion Hatchel explained. It was then moved by Alderman Almon seconded by Alderman Aday to approve the ordinance on first reading and call a oublic hearing. July 28, 1981 Page Two 00 Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Wayland presented Energas's Company's cost of gas report for the month of June, 1981. No action was taken. Mayor Wayland presented the Minutes from Boards and Committees, Parks, Committee, June 5, 1981 and Building Code/Fire Code Board of Appeals, June 29, 1981. No action was taken. Mayor Wayland presented the Departme. ntal Reports; Traffic Control, Weed Mowing- Vector Control, Animal Control, and Police Dept. Mayor presented the Budget Expenditures for approval. It was moved by Alderman Aday seconded by Alderman Tillerson to approve the Budget Expenditures. Motion unanimous. It was moved by Alderman Aday seconded by Alderman Almon to adjourn the meeting.
