COUNCIL CHAMBERS

The City Council of the City of Plainview met in special session at 10:00 A.M.
with Mayor Bob Wayland presiding and the following Councilman present: Carl Tillerson-
Place One, Andy Taylor-Place Two, Lloyd Woods-Place Three, and TomAlmon-Place Four.
In addition, the following people were present: Randy Holly-Adminstrative Assistant,
Jim Davis, Buddy Baker, and Charles Bechtold.
Mayor Wayland opened the meeting and explained that the purpose of this session
was to determine the appointee as Acting Police Chief for the City of Plainview which
is a personnel matter and eligible for consideration in executive session. Alderman
Woods made the motion for the Mayor and City Councilman to go into executive session.
Alderman Taylor seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
Upon leaving the Mayor's chambers,Alderman Almon made a motion that the Mayor and
Council come out of executive session, the motion was seconded by Alderman Tillerson.
Motion carried unanimously.
Alderman Woods made the motion toappoin~ ~Jerry Austin as Acting Police Chief during t
period before appointing the permanent Police Chief and to start accepting all applications
and evaluate them against the qualifications to be established by the City Council.
Alderman Almon seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 10:55 A.M.
