COUNC I L CHAMBERS City Hall The City Council met in a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers with Mayor Gene Ridlehuber presiding and the following Councilman present: Carl Titlerson, Andy Taylor, Sr., Lloyd Woods, Bobby James and Tom Aday. Also present, John Hatchel, Bob Richards, Tom Hamilton, Bill Hogge, Buddy Dodson, Norman Huggins, Joe Ferguson, Hugh Anderson, Johnnie Ballew, Tom Riney, Mike McDonough, and Sheryl Owen. Visitors present: Wendell Smith, Clarence Denton, George Braga, Glenn Bickel, Charles Bechtold, Doug Maxey, Buddy Baker, and Jim Davis. Invocation was given by Alderman Carl Tillerson. Mayor presented the Minutes of the Regular City Council Meeting held May 25, 1982 and the City Council Work Session held June 3, 1982. It was moved by Alderman Aday seconded by Alderman Taylor to approve the minutes. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor presented Resolution No. R82-512 recognizing Mr. R.V. Payne for his 25 years of service on the Canadian Municipal Water Authority. It was moved by Alderman Woods seconded by Alderman Tillerson to accept the resolution. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor announced the various new m~mbers to boards~ no one present to accept certificates. Mayor presented Resolution No. R82-516 authorizing the purchase of office furniture and fixtures for the Plainview Industrial Foundation Office, appropriating funds from the Indusnrial Development Account. John Hatchel explained the purchase of the furniture and the proposals. It was moved by Alderman Aday seconded by Alderman Tillerson to accept the proposal from Oswald's Printing & Office Supply, Inc. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor presented Ordinance No.. 82-2490 on first reading approving the rate schedule to be charged by Southwestern Public Service Co. in the City of Plainview; and providing for an effective date for such rate schedule. John Hatchel explained the Ordinance. The Council discussed the ordinance with representatives of Southwestern Public Service and it was then moved by Alderman Taylor seconded by Alderman Aday to deny the ordinance and call a public hearing for June 22, 1982. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor~presented Zoning Ordinance No. 82-2489 on first reading and calling a public hearing for 7:30 p.m., June-~22nd~_ request of T.C. Wall for rezoning of Lots 5,4,S,6, & 7, Block 4, Gardenville Subdivision, from an R-1 (Single-Family Residential) Zoning District to a C.G.B. (Commercial General Business) Zoning ~istrict, and located at 2501 Trinity Street. Bob Richards explained the ordinance. I~ was then moved by Alderman Woods seconded by Alderman Tillerson to approve the ord%nance on first reading. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor presented reports, however, no action was taken on them. Mayor presented the Budget Expenditures for approval. It was moved by Alderman Aday seconded by Alderman Tillerson to approve the expenditures. Motion carried unanimously.
