The City Council of the City of Plainviewmet ina regular meeting
Tuesday, November 22, 1983, at 7:30 p.m. in theCounciiChambers of City
Hall with MayorRidlehuber presiding andthe following Councilman
present: Carl Tillerson, Andy Taylor, ~brris Smith, Bobby James, and Tom
Aday. Staff present: John Hatchel, Tom Hamilton~ Hugh Anderson, Norman
Huggins, Bob Richards, Bill Hogge, Johnnie Ballew, Jack Dickey, Mike
McDonough, and Sheryl Owen.
Invocation was given by Tom Aday.
Mayor presented the following minutes for approval; City Council
M~eting, November 8, 1983, City Council Special M~eting, November 15,
1983, City Council Work Session, November 17, 1983, Departmental P~ports
& Minutes and Budget Expenditures. It was movedbyAldermanAday
seconded byAldermanJames to approve the minutes. M~tion carried
unanimeusly.
Mayor invited nominations frc~nthe Council to elect a Mayor Pro
Tem. It was movedbyAldermanTillerson seconded byAldermanTaylor to
nominate and elect Tom Aday asMayor Pro Tem. Motion carried
unanimously.
Mayor presented a public hearing to receive cc~ments from citizens
concerning the filing of an application for a Co~-~nity Development
Block Grant by the City of Plainview requesting Economic Development
Planning funds. John Hatchel explained the public hearings. Mayor
opened the public hearing. No con~nents were made. Mayor closed the
hearing.
Mayor presented Resolution No. R83-653 accepting bids and
authorizingtheMayor to enter into a purchase agreement for the
purchase of a station wagon to be used by the Crime Prevention Unit of
the Police Department. Hugh Anderson explained the resolution. It was
then moved by Alderman Tillerson seconded byAlderman Aday to approve
the resolution. Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor presented Ordinance No. 83-2535 on first reading, providing
for the sale of stolen, abandoned or recovered property, and providing
for the manner of notice of the sale and providing for the duties of
Citypersonnel regardingthe disposition of funds and disposition of
worthless property. HughAnderson explained. It was then n~ved by
Alderman Aday seconded byAlderman James to approve the ordim~3nce.
M~tion carriedunanimously.
Mayor presented Ordinance No. 83-2535 prohibiting motorcycles, dirt
bikes and other vehicles out of undesigD~ted areas in the City Park~.
This item was put on hold for further study. M~eting adjourned.
