MINUTES
The City Council of the City of Plainviewmet in a regular meeting,
Tuesday, September 25, 1984 at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City
Hall with Mayor Ridlehuber presiding andthe followingCouncilmembers
and staff present: Barbara Dorman, Andy Taylor, Junior Brown, Bobby
James and Tom Adayo Also; Bob Richards, Tom Hamilton, HughAnderson,
Johnnie Ballew, Buddy Dodson, and Sheryl Owen.
Mayor Ridlehuber gave the invocation and opened the meeting.
Mayor presented theMinutes of previous City Council ~etings,
Departmental ReportsandMinutes, and theBudgetexpenditures. It was
moved byAldermanAday secondedbyAldermanBrownto approve theabove.

Mayor explained thatthe Tabled Item for a public hearing to
discuss the closing of certain streets and alleys inandadjoining
Duncan Addition, Unit No. 2, Plainview, Hale County, Texas, and Duncan
Addition, Unit No. 3, Plainview, ~le County, Texas would be rescheduled
to October 9, 1984.
Mayor also explainedthatOrdinance No. 84-2557 closing the street
and alleyways in Block JK-2, Duncan Addition, Plainview, Hale County,
Texas also be rescheduleduntil October 9, 1984. It was moved by
Alderman Aday secondedbyAlderman Taylor for both tabled items to
remain tableduntil October 9, 1984. Motion carried unanimously. ~
Mayor presented P~solution No. R84-759 accepting as complete the
paving improvements on Baltimore Street and at the Quincy Fire Station
and authorizing FiD~i payment of the City's portion of the cost of said
paving. Norman Huggins explained. It was then moved by Alderman ~/ay
secondedbyAlderwc~anDorman to approve the resolution.
Mayor presented Resolution No. R84-760 authorizing the transfer of
unappropriated funds to the Non-dep~talAirportAccount robe
combined with existing budgeted funds, and authorizing payment of City's
portion of grant match on lighting and reconstruction cost of Airport
runway 13-31. Norman Huggins explained. It was then movedby
Alde~wc~nDormansecondedbyAldermanAday to approve the resolution.
Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor presented Ordinance No. 84-2569 on first reading providing
for Hotel/Motel to collect a tax for occupancy of any room or space with
certain exceptions~ to deduct and withhold from the tax due to the City
on a quarterly return as reimbursement for the cost of collecting the
tax 1% of the amount of tax due as shown on the report.
Norman Huggins explained. It was then moved by Alderman Aday
seconded by Alderwc~m~ Dorman to approve the ordinance on first reading.
Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor presented Resolution No. R84-761 stating the City's policy
prohibiting discrimination against individuals because of their
handicapped status, designating the responsible person to coordinate
i~plementation of revenue sharing handicapped discrimination
requirements and directing public notice thereof to be given. Mayor
Ridlehuber explained. It was then moved by Alderman Aday seconded by
Alderman Taylor to pass the resolution as an emergency. Motion carried
unanimously.
With no further business pending, Alderman ~lay made the motion to
adjourn the meeting, seconded by Alderman Brown. Meeting adjourned.
