MINUTES
7:30 P.M.
The Plainview City Council mot in a regular City Council n~eting at
7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, iOctober 23, 1984 at City Ball in the Council
Chambers with Mayor Ridlehuber presiding and the following
Counci~rs present: Barbara Dorman, Andy Taylor, Junior Brown,
Bobby James and Tom Aday. Staff present: Bob Richards, Tom Hamilton,
Bill Hogge, Buddy Dodson, Jack Dickey, Jerry Austin, Johnnie Ballew,
Norman Huggins, Tom Riney, and Sheryl Owen.
Invocation was given by Tc~n Hamilton
Mayor then presented the following for approval; Minutes of
previous City Council meetings, Departmental ~ports and Minutes, and
Budget expenditures. It was moved by Alderman Aday seconded by Alderman
Brown to approve the above. Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor then presented Resolution R84-762 honoring Lyn Hughes for 25
years of service to the City of Plainview. Mayor presented the
resolution to Mr. Hughes and his wife.
Mayor Pro TemTomAday then presented a special tribute to the L.B.
Bass family honoring Mr. Bass. Mayor Pro Tom read the tribute then
presented to Mrs. L.B. Bass and her family.
Mayor then presented Tabled Items: Public hearing on the closing of
certain streets and alley in and adjoining the Duncan Addition, Unit No.
2 and Unit No. 3; and Ordinance No. 84-2557 closing the street and
alleyways in Block JK-2, Duncan Addition. It was moved by Alderman Aday
seconded by Alderwoman Dorman that these two times re~nain tabled.
Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor then presented Ordinance No. 84-2570 on second and final
reading, an ordio~nce defining and prescribing the rates applicable to
the sale of natural gas service by Energas Company to its customors who
use natural gas within the city limits of Plainview, Texas. It was
moved by Alderman Aday seconded by Alderman Taylor to approve the
ordinance on second and final reading. Motion carried unaninously.
Mayor then presented for consideration of the Council various board
appointments. Mayor read the appointments, it was then moved by
Alde~ Dorman seconded by Alderman TaYlor to accept the appoint-
monts. Motion carriedunanimously.
Mayor then presented Bmsolution No. R84-766 approving Work Order
No. 1 in conjunction with a contract with Barber, Brannon, Traylor,
Todd, Inc. for grant administration services and authorizing the Mayor
to execute said Work Order No. 1 and appropriating funds. Bill Hogge
explained the resolution.
It was then moved by Alderman Aday seconded by Alderwc~m~n Dorman to
approve the resolution. Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor then presented Resolution No. R84-767 authorizing
application to the Texas A~ronautics Commission for funds allocated to
seal coat taxiways A & B, aprons and restripe at Hale County Airport and
amending the 1984-85 budget to include funds for the City's share of
matching funds for the project. Bill Hogge explained the resolution.
It was then moved by Alderman Aday seconded by Alderwc~an Dorman to
approve the resolution. Motion carried unanimously.
With no further business pending, it was moved by Alderman ~lay
seconded by Alderman James to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried
unanimously. Meeting adjourned.
