HomeMy WebLinkAboutR87-247061 RESOLUTION NO. R87-247 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE PERMANENT REMOVAL OF THIRTY SIX STREET LIGHTS ON COLUMBIA STREET. WHEREAS, thirty six street lights were turned off in late January,remaining 1987, lights; so and that the City may review the effectiveness of the WHEREAS, the City is of the opinion that traffic safety has not been adversely affected by the turning off of said lights; and WHEREAS, Southwestern Public Service has advised that it cost $292.00 to temporarily disconnect said lights; and WHEREAS, Southwestern Public Service has advised that it will cost $6,242.00 to permanently remove the lights; and WHEREAS, the City has agreed to remove the concrete pedestals that the lights sit on at its own expense; and WHEREAS, the total annual projected savings are $5 118.00 if the lights are Permanently removed. · NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Plainview, Texas, that City Manager is hereby authorized to work with Southwestern Public Service for the streets lights on Columbia Street.
