Contractors for the City of Plainview will begin seal coating streets in four areas on Monday, July 15.
The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-week.
Sealcoating, or pavement sealing, is the process of applying a protective coating to asphalt-based
pavements to provide a layer of protection from the elements such as water, oils, and U.V. damage.
All vehicles will need to be removed from the curb during the process. Residents whose streets will
be seal coated will also receive a notice via door fliers the day before work begins.
The seal coat tentative streets include:
Joliet Street -- 25th Street to 32nd Street
Milwaukee Street -- 23rd Street to 24th Street
26th Street -- Quincy Street to Milwaukee Street
Quincy Street -- 24th Street - 26th Street
South Columbia -- N.W. Alpine Street to S.W. Alpine Street
Mesa Drive -- W. 16th Street to W. 24th Street
A map of the fog seal area can also be found on the City of Plainview’s website – www.plainviewtx.org.
