May 15, 2024 – The City of Plainview Emergency Operation
Center is scheduled to conduct a test of the Plainview Alert

System on Monday, May 20.
The system has recently been updated to include resident
and business cell phone, landline and VoIP numbers in the
city. Residents will only receive a notification for test
purposes, tornado warnings or other imminent threat to life
emergency events.
The purpose of this test is to ensure the system is working with the updated information and prepared
for severe weather season. If inclement weather occurs, the test will be canceled to ensure there is
no confusion in possible messaging.
Citizens may also receive other notifications through the system by signing up for Plainview Alerts on
the City’s website - www.plainviewtx.org.
