Home My WebLink About05.07.2024 Watson TCOLE Advisory Committee City of Plainview Police Chief Derrick Watson Commended for Service to Advisory Committee May 7, 2024 -- City of Plainview Police Chief Derrick Watson recently received commendation for his service to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Agency Standards Advisory Committee. Representing West Texas, Watson was appointed in 2023 for a one- year appointment to the eleven-member committee. The Law Enforcement Agency Standards Advisory Committee, as established under Texas Occupations Code section 1701.163, is charged with developing minimum standards with respect to the creation or continued operation of a law enforcement agency based on the function, size, and jurisdiction of the agency. Watson has been with the City of Plainview Police Department since December 2020. Prior to Plainview, Watson served as Police Chief for the City of Double Oak and served in various positions with the Coppell Police Department and Dallas Police Department.
