Receive Recognition for
Recycling Efforts
The City of Plainview’s Solid Waste Recycling Program
was currently awarded a Certificate of Recognition for
Outstanding Recycling Efforts in 2023 from the Keep
Texas Beautiful / Keep Texas Recycling Program.
With the community’s assistance, 166 tons was
recycled through the program in 2023.
That amounts to an estimated environmental savings
of 2,814 trees, 546 cubic yards of landfill space,
$4,966 landfill fees, 1.15 million gallons of water,
9,933 pounds of air pollution and 678,755 kilowatt-
hours of electricity.
