Abbott for 50 Anniversary
Texas Governor Greg Abbott recently recognized
the Runningwater Draw Retired Senior Volunteer
th
Program (RSVP) for the program’s 50
Anniversary.
In the certificate, Abbott notes that “for more than
a half century, you have upheld the very values
and vision that first called RSVP into being – your longevity speaks volumes about the
place of prominence you have attained in Plainview and beyond ... You have made
Texas a better, brighter place, and I have faith that the best is yet to come.”
Runningwater Draw RSVP is sponsored by the City of Plainview and housed by the City
of Plainview in Unger Memorial Library. RSVP provides volunteer opportunities for
persons 55 years of age and over who reside in Floyd, Hale, and Lamb counties.
America’s largest volunteer organization with 330,000 volunteers across the country
tackling tough issues in their communities, RSVP is partially funded through
the AmeriCorps, State of Texas and through fundraisers and donations.
