Beversdorf Set to Retire on November 15
The City of Plainview announces the retirement of Director of Finance

Sarianne Beversdorf effective Wednesday, November 15.
A retirement reception will be hosted in her honor on Wednesday, November
thth
15 at 3:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 202 W. 5 Street. The
public is invited and encouraged to attend.
During her extensive 40-year career, Beversdorf dedicated more than 23
years to local government, with more than 13 years with the City of Plainview and more than nine
years with the City of Levelland, in addition to several years spent in the corporate sector and private
practice.
A graduate of South Plains College, Texas Tech University and Rapport Leadership Academy, she is
recognized as a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Government Finance Officer and Certified
Public Manager.
As the City of Plainview’s Director of Finance, Beversdorf served as the Chief Financial Officer
overseeing accounts payable, asset management, debt management, development and
implementation of the City budget, investment strategies, payroll, utility billing, insurance and more.
During her municipal career, Beversdorf was involved in the Government Finance Officers
Association of Texas where she was known for her outstanding knowledge of public finance and
willingness to mentor government finance employees.
She has also served as the treasurer for New Horizons Walk to Emmaus Community, hosted several
foreign exchange students, is a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi and currently is a member of the
Plainview Lions Club, Plainview Elks and Plainview Bowling League.
She is married to Marcus, and they have a daughter Mellanie Ireton and son-in-law Matthew and a
son Christopher and daughter-in-law Candra and five grandchildren – Hunter, Hailyn, Jack, Alexander
and Mia.
While her life and career have taken her around the area, Plainview has always been Beversdorf’s
home base. Spending time as a child in Plainview and completing her professional life in Plainview,
Beversdorf looks forward to continuing to live in Plainview while chasing grandkids, playing disc golf
and being involved in the community.
