Rivera most recently worked for the Universal City Police Department in San Antonio before returning to Plainview. He previously worked for the City of Plainview Police Department from December 2019 to December 2021. He was pinned by his wife, Crissy Rivera. A ceremony to award and pin the police badge on an individual is a long-standing law enforcement community tradition. Badges are presented to officers for two occasions – graduating from the Police Academy or for a promotion. The City Plainview Police Department mission is to maintain a safe and peaceful community by providing effective and efficient law enforcement services through community partnerships, public education, selfless public service and continuous professional development.
