HomeMy WebLinkAbout08.09.2023 Seal Coat City of Plainview NEWS th 202 W. 5 Street Plainview, TX 79072 August 10, 2023 th Seal Coating Project to begin on Monday, August 14 Contractors for the City of Plainview will begin seal coating streets in four areas on th Monday, August 14. The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-week. Sealcoating, or pavement sealing, is the process of applying a protective coating to asphalt-based pavements to provide a layer of protection from the elements such as water, oils, and U.V. damage. All vehicles will need to be removed from the curb during the process. Residents whose streets will be seal coated will also receive a notice via door fliers the day before work begins. The seal coat tentative streets include: th  W. 16 Street between Quincy St. and Joliet Street ndth  Amarillo Street between W. 2 Street and W. 4 Street rd  W. 3 Street from Amarillo Street to Yonkers Street nd  W. 2 Street from Amarillo Street to Yonkers Street  Garland Street between Holliday Drive and Ridgeway Drive  Villa Drive between Garland Street and Navasota Drive th  Holliday Drive between Jefferson Drive and 25 Street th  Northwest Drive between 24 Street and Garland Street th  Kermit Drive between 24 Street and Highland Road th  Itasca Drive between Jefferson Drive and 24 Street  Mesa Circle th  W. 4 Street between Westridge Road and Mesa Circle  Navasota Drive between Westridge Road and Mesa Circle  Mesa Drive between Westridge Road and Mesa Circle th  W. 4 Street between Mesa Circle and Lometa Drive rd  W. 3 Street between Lometa Drive and Kirchwood Drive  Horseshoe Bend A map of the seal coat area can also be found on the City of Plainview’s website – www.plainviewtx.org. Depending on progress, roads will be completed faster if application is going well. All roads may be rescheduled a day before or after their scheduled day depending on performance of materials.
