City of Plainview Police Department Holds
Pinning Ceremony for New Officer
The City of Plainview Police Department held a Pinning Ceremony
on Tuesday, August 8th, at the City Council Chambers for new
officer Brennen Ballard.
Ballard is a Plainview Christian High School graduate and most
recently worked as a police dispatcher for two years before
completing the South Plains College Law Enforcement Academy in
August. He was pinned by his wife Bethany.
A ceremony to award and pin the police badge on an individual is
a long-standing law enforcement community tradition. Badges are
presented to officers for two occasions – graduating from the
Police Academy or for a promotion.
The City Plainview Police Department mission is to maintain a safe
and peaceful community by providing effective and efficient law
enforcement services through community partnerships, public
education, selfless public service and continuous professional
development. The department is authorized for 34 full-time sworn
officers, seven public safety dispatchers and two records clerks /
administrative assistants.
