HomeMy WebLinkAbout10.14.2022 Police Pinning Ceremony City of Plainview NEWS th 202 W. 5 Street Plainview, TX 79072 October 14, 2022 City of Plainview Police Department Holds Pinning Ceremony for Two New Officers The City of Plainview Police Department held a th Pinning Ceremony on Tuesday, October 11, at the City Council Chambers for two new officers – Savannha Rosas and Zachary Marin. Rosas, a Plainview High school graduate, completed the South Plains College Law Enforcement Academy in August. She was pinned by her friend, Plainview ISD Police Officer Erica Vaquera. Marin, a Plainview High school graduate, was a graduate of the 101 Class – South Plains Association of Government Basic Police Officer Academy in July. He was pinned by City of Plainview Police Captain Jaime Salinas. A ceremony to award and pin the police badge on an individual is a long-standing law enforcement community tradition. Badges are presented to officers for two occasions – graduating from the Police Academy or for a promotion. The City Plainview Police Department mission is to maintain a safe and peaceful community by providing effective and efficient law enforcement services through community partnerships, public education, selfless public service and continuous professional development. The department is authorized for 34 full-time sworn officers, seven public safety dispatchers and two records clerks / administrative assistants. ### Top Photo: Capt. Salinas pins Officer Marin.
