HomeMy WebLinkAbout07.26.2022 Covid Update City of Plainview NEWS th 202 W. 5 Street Plainview, TX 79072 July 26, 2022 Plainview - Hale County Health Department Encourages Vaccinations as COVID-19 Cases Continue to Rise Similar to state and national case increases, the Plainview – Hale County Health Department has recently seen a rise in COVID-19 cases. 306 cases were reported for the th month of July (as of July 24), 155 cases reported for May and 23 cases reported for June. As cases continue to rise, the Health Department encourages citizens to get their COVID- 19 vaccine, including booster shots. The CDC recommends COVID-19 primary series vaccines for everyone ages 6 months and older, and COVID-19 boosters for everyone ages 5 years and older, if eligible. For individuals who test positive for COVID-19 or have symptoms, the CDC recommends individuals stay home for at least five (5) days and isolate from others, regardless of vaccination status. For those who have recently been exposed, quarantine measures will depend on vaccination status. Please visit www.cdc.gov/coronavirus for more information. Common symptoms for COVID-19 include fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath/difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting and diarrhea. If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, contact your physician. Citizens are encouraged to consider other precautions including social distancing, washing your hands for 20 seconds and wearing a mask if you have been exposed.
