HomeMy WebLinkAbout8.04.2021 Fog Seal Coating City of Plainview NEWS 901 Broadway St. Plainview, TX 79072 August 4, 2021 th Seal Coating on City Streets to begin on Monday, August 9 Freeman Construction will begin seal coating the City of Plainview streets in three areas th on Monday, August 9 and is scheduled to be completed by mid-week. Sealcoating, or pavement sealing, is the process of applying a protective coating to asphalt-based pavements to provide a layer of protection from the elements such as water, oils, and U.V. damage. All vehicles will need to be removed from the curb during the process. Residents whose streets will be seal coated will also receive a notice via door fliers the day before work begins. The seal coat tentative streets include: Westgate 2500 Block of Kermit Drive th Portion of 24 Street Near Kermit Drive Hood Park (Duck Pond) Area th West 10 Street (I-27 – Canyon Street) thth Ennis Street (Olton Road \[5 Street\] – West 14 Street) Green Acres (High School) Area th West 16 Street (I-27 – Quincy Street) thth Smyth Street (11 Street – 16 Street) Other thth Amarillo Street (4 Street – 5 Street) thth Denver Street (5 Street – 6 Street) th 6 Street (Denver – Columbia) Canyon Street (near the Business Park) A map of the seal coat area can also be found on the City of Plainview’s website – www.plainviewtx.org. Depending on progress, roads will be completed faster if application is going well. All roads may be rescheduled a day before or after their scheduled day depending on performance of materials.
