Seal Coating on City Streets to begin on Monday, August 9
Freeman Construction will begin seal coating the City of Plainview streets in three areas

on Monday, August 9 and is scheduled to be completed by mid-week.
Sealcoating, or pavement sealing, is the process of applying a protective coating to
asphalt-based pavements to provide a layer of protection from the elements such as
water, oils, and U.V. damage.
All vehicles will need to be removed from the curb during the process. Residents whose
streets will be seal coated will also receive a notice via door fliers the day before work
begins.
The seal coat tentative streets include:
Westgate
2500 Block of Kermit Drive

Portion of 24 Street Near Kermit Drive
Hood Park (Duck Pond) Area

West 10 Street (I-27 – Canyon Street)

Ennis Street (Olton Road \[5 Street\] – West 14 Street)
Green Acres (High School) Area

West 16 Street (I-27 – Quincy Street)

Smyth Street (11 Street – 16 Street)
Other

Amarillo Street (4 Street – 5 Street)

Denver Street (5 Street – 6 Street)

6 Street (Denver – Columbia)
Canyon Street (near the Business Park)

Depending on progress, roads will be completed faster if application is going well. All
roads may be rescheduled a day before or after their scheduled day depending on
performance of materials. Residents in the area will be notified of any changes. Please
use caution while in these areas.
