City of Plainview Recognizes Staff
Anniversaries
The City of Plainview recently recognized 21 employees for their
years of service with the City. Most notable was Fire Captain David
Sells, recognized for his 30 years of service to the City of Plainview
Fire Department.
Two other Fire Department personnel were also honored for 25 years
of service - Brian Merrick – Fire Lieutenant and Timothy Miller – Fire
Equipment Operator as well as Robert Harmel – Landfill Spotter with
the Solid Waste Department.
Staff receiving recognition include:

Robert Harmel – Landfill Spotter
Brian Merrick – Fire Lieutenant
20 Years
Alfonso Longoria – Police Officer
15 Years
William Bridgwater – Police Captain
Debra McIlroy – Accounts Payable Clerk
Donna Waugh – Library Aide
Guadalupe Moreno – Water Meter Reader
10 Years
Marcus Beversdorf – Parks Maintenance Worker
Cary Smith – Firefighter
Sarianne Beversdorf – Director of Finance
Kevin Goss – Fire Lieutenant
Jeffrey Snyder – City Manager
5 Years
Odilia Alvarado – Community Health Nurse
Ray Vera – Parks Maintenance Worker
Dianne Botello – Solid Waste Secretary
William Bloom – Police Detective
Cindy Borchardt – Police Dispatch Supervisor
Paul Kite – Assistant Director of Utilities
Melinda Brown – Main Street Manager
“Congrats to David, Brian, Tim, Robert and all the employees for their years of service
to the City,” says Jeffrey Snyder, City Manager. “This list of employees with many years
of service is a testimony to the dedication of our staff to the City.”
Normally announced during the annual employee holiday party, the event was cancelled
due to the COVID-19 situation and employees were recognized in small gatherings in
the Council Chambers at City Hall.
