City of Plainview Police Department Announces
Two Command Staff Promotions
The City of Plainview’s Police Department has selected Bill Bridgwater
as the new Patrol Captain. Bridgwater began his role as Patrol
th
Captain on Monday, January 18 replacing Captain Dion Guerra, who
recently retired after twenty-six years of service to the City of
Plainview Police Department.
Bridgwater has more than fifteen years of service with the City of
Plainview Police Department and has a Master Peace Officer
Certification and is a Graduate of the Leadership Command College at
the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas. Captain
Bridgwater received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Justice
Administration from Wayland Baptist University.
Cody Ward has been selected to replace Bridgwater as the Criminal
Investigations Lieutenant. Lieutenant Ward has been with the Police
Department for more than nineteen years and has also obtained a
Master Peace Officer Certification. Ward is a SWAT Sniper, firearms
instructor, and is currently working towards a Forensic Technician
Certification.
“The City of Plainview Police Department has great officers worthy of
promotions and Cpt. Bridgwater and Lt. Ward will do a great job in their
new positions,” said Police Chief Derrick Watson. “I look forward to
their continued service to the Plainview community.”
