The Main Street Board will review applications at their April meeting (Monday, April 6) and winners will be
announced after the meeting. All work must be completed for the recipient to receive the monies.
The Façade Improvement Grants encourage downtown business and property owners to update their façade
including signs, paint, windows, doors or other repairs and receive reimbursement for a portion of the work.
The Main Street Board has awarded Façade Improvement Grants for more than a decade. In an effort to make
more effective change to downtown facades, the City has recently implemented Historic Design Standards for
the Downtown District as well as established a TIRZ district with available grant monies.
“We are proud of the long-term effort of the Main Street Façade Improvement Grants and are excited to offer
them to our downtown businesses again,” says Melinda Brown, Main Street Manager. “The City is offering TIRZ
grants as well but the Façade Improvement Grants can assist with smaller projects and require a less stringent
application. We encourage downtown businesses to apply.”
Business or property owners in the downtown area are eligible to apply for the grant. Those interested in
applying for the grant are encouraged to contact the Main Street Office at 296.1119.
