Bulky Spring Clean Up on March

The City of Plainview will kick off their first
Bulky Item Spring Clean-Up Days on
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, March

17, 18 and 19. This service is free to all
City of Plainview residents.
The City will be divided into three zones for

pick-up – Zone 1 items will be picked up on Tuesday, March 17, (East 5 Street City
th
Limits to West side City limits North of 16 Street \[not counting Westgate\]), Zone 2
thth
items will be picked up on Wednesday, March 18 (South of 16 Street to Wayland
through the South end of town on the east side of the City) and Zone 3 items will be
th
picked up on Thursday, March 19 (Westgate, Westridge and west side of Plainview to
Wayland \[Quincy Street\]).
Items that are allowed for pick up include tree limbs, large toys, furniture, metal, hot
tubs, hot water heater, mattresses and large household items. Items NOT allowed are
tires and construction materials such as sheetrock, insulation, remodeling and
demolition materials, brick, concrete, garage doors, other doors and carpet.
“This Clean-Up will provide an opportunity for Plainview residents to dispose of bulky
trash items without having to transport those items to the landfill,” says Tim Crosswhite,
Public Works Director. “One of the focus areas of the City’s Comprehensive Plan is to
enhance community appearance and this event is a great way to help accomplish that
goal.”
Citizens must sign up to have items picked up - to sign up for a pick-up on your
designated day, contact the Solid Waste (Landfill) Department at 296.1152 or email
blively@plainviewtx.org. All pick-ups must be communicated to the Department by 5:00
p.m. the day prior to pick up.
Residents are encouraged to place bulky items in the grass near the sidewalk or no
more than three feet from the curb on the designated day. Items may be placed after
5:00 p.m. the day before pick up and no later than 9:00 a.m. on the scheduled day of
pickup.
For those who do not live in the City limits, the Landfill will be open for drop off of items
for a fee based on weight.
