HomeMy WebLinkAbout5.21.2020 City Council Resolution for GA23 (002) City of Plainview NEWS 901 Broadway St. Plainview, TX 79072 May 21, 2020 Hale County, City of Plainview Issue Resolutions to Adopt Governor Abbott’s Executive Order GA-23 Pursuant to Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s Executive Order GA-23, City of Plainview Mayor Wendell Dunlap issued a Resolution adopting the Governor’s Executive Order for st residents of Hale County effective Thursday, May 21 at 12:00 a.m. and extending to th Tuesday, June 9. Hale County Judge David Mull and Commissioner’s Court will consider similar action at their next work session. The Resolution maintains the original conditions of the Disaster Declaration established st on March 31 with updates per the Governor’s Executive Order and specific recommendations to safely re-open Hale County for business while still mitigating the spread of COVID-19. The Resolution may be ratified by action of the Hale County Commissioners Court and the Plainview City Council. The second phase of Texas Reopening include: Monday, May 18th ▪Gyms, exercise facilities (previously announced May 5) ▪Hair salons, barbershops (previously announced May 5) ▪Non-essential manufacturers and other offices (previously announced May 5) ▪NEW - Massage and personal care businesses (includes tattoo and piercing studios, laser hair removal, hair loss treatment) ▪NEW – Child care centers ▪NEW – Youth clubs (YMCA, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, etc.) nd Friday, May 22 ▪Restaurants at 50 percent capacity ▪Bars, tasting rooms, and similar establishments at 25 percent capacity ▪Bowling alleys, Bingo halls, skating rinks, and simulcasting at 25 percent capacity ▪Rodeo, equestrian events ▪Drive-In Concerts, provided participants stay in their car th Friday, May 29 ▪Zoos st Sunday, May 31 ▪Professional sports without in-person spectators ▪Day/overnight youth camps ▪Youth sports Monday, June 1st ▪School districts can hold summer school if following social distancing guidelines Under the current orders, interactive amusement venues such as video arcades, amusement parks and water parks remain closed. Nursing homes and assisted living facilities are still closed to visitors and the public. Social distancing of 10 or less people is still required and those who are 65 years and older or those with compressed immunome systems are asked to stay home as much as possible.
