The City of Plainview’s Solid Waste
Department Staff Receives TCEQ
Certifications
Several employees of the Solid Waste Department
(Landfill/Recycling) recently received their Texas
Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) MSW-A
Certification.
The department currently has six operators with
Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) - A certifications including Brocke Lively – Solid Waste Superintendent,
Dianne Botello - Gatekeeper/Secretary, Serafin (Pino) Mondragon – Heavy Equipment Operator,
Larry Perez – Landfill Foreman, James McGee – Route Foreman and Jackie Smith – Recycle Center
Foreman (not pictured).
To receive the MSW-A Certification, employees must have four to six years work experience
depending on education, attend various trainings, pass the TCEQ exam and have obtained lower
level licenses prior to completing work for the MSW- A Certification.
“Having a majority of the staff at the Landfill with a MSW-A Certification is very beneficial for the City,”
says Tim Crosswhite, Public Works Director. “The knowledge obtained from receiving these
certificates ensures that the best techniques and practices are being used in our Solid Waste
Department.”
The Solid Waste Department is located at 1031 County Road Y and is open Monday – Saturday from
8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
