Jeffrey Snyder, City Manager, appointed to
TMLIRP Board of Trustees
Jeffrey Snyder, Plainview City Manager, was recently appointed to
serve on the Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool
(TMLIRP) Board of Trustees Place 3. He will fill an unexpired term for
Place 3 which runs until October 2020.
“It is important for City staff to serve on state and regional boards,” said
Mayor Wendell Dunlap. “Staff not only brings back knowledge and
information that will improve City services but it is also an opportunity for us to have a
presence in these great organizations.”
The Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool (TMLIRP) is the leading
provider of workers' compensation, liability, and property coverage as well as offering
various training programs for local governments in Texas. Founded in 1974, TMLIRP is
the oldest and largest pool of its type in the United States, serving over 2800
governments and political subdivisions.
Serving as the Plainview City Manager for five years, Snyder began his career as the
Idalou City Manager and served as the Assistant City Manager in Plainview before
becoming City Manager. He received his undergraduate degree from West Texas A&M
University and a Master’s in Public Administration from Texas Tech University and serves
as the president of the Panhandle City Manager’s Association, a member of the
International City Manager’s Association and Plainview Lion’s Club. Jeffrey and his wife,
Mika, have three children – Sawyer, Bowen and Griffin.
