City of Plainview invites the Public to the
Zoning, Subdivision & Sign Ordinance Update
Open House on Monday, October 29th
The City of Plainview will be hosting an Open House to discuss the updated zoning,

subdivision and sign ordinances on Monday, October 29 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at
th
the Plainview Civic Center (2902 W. 4 Street). The public is invited and encouraged to
attend.
City Staff, along with Kendig Keast Collaborative representatives, will be on hand to
review the updated Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Regulations and Sign Ordinances as
well as take public comments.
Kendig Keast Collaborative (KKC) was hired in June 2017 to update the City’s Zoning
and Sign Ordinances as well as the Subdivision Regulations to make them consistent
with the Comprehensive Plan. KKC provided a thorough review of these ordinances as
well as other related regulations to address priorities regarding land use to emphasize
the character and form of development.
“Updating our zoning and sign ordinances as well as our subdivision regulations is a
priority of the Comprehensive Plan,” says Jeffrey Snyder, City Manager. “It is not only
important in regards to land use and easier to navigate regulations but is an important
tool for economic development. We look forward to public comments about the
proposed changes.”
