Bids may be placed online at www.plainviewtx.org/trustproperties. Bidders may also submit a
written bid at Plainview City Hall and will need to include the price you would consider paying
for the property you wish to buy.
Trust Properties are relatively simple. Bidders win with the highest bid and must meet the
requirements that is sufficient and accepted by all entities. The property will then be deeded to
you upon receipt of the payment of your bid amount and fees. The minimal fees cover the cost
of the deed and recording fees and the paperwork and recording are handled for the bidder.
The minimum bid amount is listed on each property. The minimum bid listed is the taxable
value of the property.
Bids can be accepted from anyone over 18 years of age. Also, bidders must not owe delinquent
taxes on other property in the county, owe an unpaid fine or fee to the city and/or county,
and/or own other property in the city/county that is subject to existing penalties for codes
enforcement.
Trust properties (the properties that are part of this sale) are lots and tracts of land which have
been foreclosed upon to collect a property tax lien due local governmental entities such as the
City of Plainview, Hale County, Plainview ISD or High Plains Water District. These properties
were put up for auction and went unsold at the tax sale. The properties are then “struck-off” to
the entities.
