The City of Plainview will launch its newly
th
designed website on Monday, November 19 at
11:00 a.m. The nine month redesign process
worked to make navigating the website easier
and more efficient.
The web address will remain the same – www.plainviewtx.org and several new design features
have been added on the home page. These include an updated menu bar, easier to use search
bar and navigation buttons that allow users to report a concern, pay bills online, receive notices
and alerts, search for jobs and provide information to visitors. These three features will make
searching for information about the City easier and more intuitive for users.
The City of Plainview’s newly designed website includes a scroll down feature common in
websites seen today. Scrolling down the homepage, visitors to the website will see Plainview
News, a carousel of information about happenings at the City. Further down, the website
features a calendar and list of City meetings and events.
“The website is the first and best place to find information about the City,” says Jeffrey Snyder.
“This redesign will make the process more efficient.”
Other features the City will begin utilizing in the next couple of months include facilities
management tool offering citizens the ability to rent a City facility from the website, agenda
tracking tool that offers citizens the ability to review agendas and packets for City meetings,
online job applications and report a concern feature allowing citizens to report code or zoning
violations and review the progress of the report. Furthermore, the City will launch an app with
the features of the website.
“Apple and Android require that your website go live before they can receive the request to
place the app in their store,” says Snyder. “As soon as they review the app and make it available
in their store, it will be ready to use.”
