Streetscape Preview on Saturday, Dec. 8
The City of Plainview will host a downtown streetscape

preview on Saturday, December 8 (during 2 Saturday).
The preview will be on display from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and
City staff will also be on hand at the Fair from 9:30 a.m. –
11:30 a.m. to answer questions regarding the new
streetscape plan for downtown. Renderings will also be
available for citizens to view.

The City will be marking off areas on Broadway Street between 7 & 8 Street (block with the
Fair Theater) for the Street Corner Improvements and Mid-Block Bulb Out Area to give
residents a preview of how the area will look with the new streetscape plan for downtown.
“We will be setting out cones, markers, tape and other items to show the space that will be
used for the updated street corner and mid-block bulb out areas,” says Melinda Brown, Main
Street Manager. “While you may need to use some of your imagination for what the completed
project will look like, this ‘life size’ rendition will give citizens a sense of the difference the
streetscape improvements will make to downtown.”
The purpose is to show citizens how the areas will help calm traffic and provide a gathering
place for people to congregate downtown.
