Events are scheduled from 5:00 p.m. - sunset. This event is to celebrate and showcase the Ag community in our area. Events on the agenda for the night include a documentary film, “The Great American Wheat Harvest” at 6:00 p.m. at the Fair Theatre, sponsored by Boedeker Harvesting. The film tells the story of hard-working custom harvesters who travel from the heart of Texas to the Canadian border harvesting the wheat that feeds our Great Country and the World. “Even though we live in an agricultural community, many people today are unaware of everything that goes into producing the food we eat and clothes we use every day,” said Stephanie Boedeker. “This film is a great picture into the lives of those producers.” Americans takes for granted the way our food supply comes to us daily. How many folks truly understand how, where and what it takes to get that loaf of bread into the market shelves and on to the table? With rising industry costs, technological advances and production methods, new threats face our nation’s agricultural producers everyday directly impacting our nation’s supply. The Great American Wheat Harvest Movie is the behind-the-scenes look and tribute to those working daily to produce our food and those gathering the harvest. The film is produced by award-winning director and producer, Conrad Weaver, President of Conjostudios, LLC based out of Frederick, Maryland. Also, Plainview favorites Steve Buress and his friend and guitar player, Ray Espinosa, will be performing a free concert at Millennium Park beginning at 7:30 p.m. Playing classic country hits and some of his own, Burress and Espinosa will be entertaining for the whole family. “We are excited to honor the hard-working agriculture families in our community as well as have Steve and Ray back downtown playing music,” said Melinda Brown. “Downtown began as the center of town with cattle sales, land development companies, banks and the railroad and we are honored support the industry that has supported downtown for more than 100 years.” Other events on tap for the night include the debut of Oh Hell Honey Cornbread at The Radiant Lily, Tulia Creek Nubian Dairy showcasing their goat cheese at It’s a Girl Thing and Quarter Circle K Chuck Wagon will be on the corner by The Radiant Lily. nd Downtown will also include more than 12 businesses participating in the 2 Friday Downtown Event including:  The Brew – Sausage from Distinguished Pig and baked goods made with Farm Fresh eggs  Broadway Treasures  Carlito’s Mexican Restaurant  CC’s Junque to Antiques  Cindy’s Country Quilt Shoppe – Decorative tires on display  Furniture Décor & More  Furniture Expressions  Horton’s Antiques  King Carpet Plus – Smart Strand Carpet Made from corn  Masso’s Retail – large variety of boots and western wear for sale  Plainview Antiques and Collectibles  The Blue Door  The Vendors at Turquoise Alley  Uniques and Antiques – Ag items for sale in front of store Maps will be provided at each participating business and most businesses will have a sign in their window that they will be participating.
