HomeMy WebLinkAbout12.16.2024 Mayor Presents City Manager with Proclamation Mayor Charles Starnes Presents Proclamation to City Manager Je?rey Snyder Mayor Charles Starnes, along with Plainview City Council, presented a proclamation to outgoing City Manager Jeffrey th Snyder at last Tuesday (December 12) Council Meeting. The proclamation highlights Snyder’s 14 years of dedicated service to the City, his collaborative efforts with various organizations, his leadership to shape future infrastructure with the voter-approved bond projects, and his exceptional vision and commitment to excellence, leaving a lasting legacy in the City’s history. Snyder’s final day with the City will be Friday, January 3rd. He will then begin his new role as Assistant Director with the Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool (TMLIRP). Proclamation: WHEREAS, Je?rey Snyder began his dedicated service to our community on September 21, 2010, as Assistant City Manager, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of our residents; and WHEREAS, through his tireless e?orts, exemplary leadership, and unwavering commitment in excellence, Je?rey was promoted to the position of City Manager on July 1, 2014, where he continued to inspire and guide the city forward even when challenged by the closure of the city’s largest employer; and WHEREAS, Je?rey Snyder has worked collaboratively with city and county o?icials, sta?, and citizens to develop and execute a shared vision for the future of our community, with a focus on sustainable progress, community engagement, and the enhancement of the quality of life for all who call this city home; and WHEREAS, in 2017 under Je?rey’s leadership, the city embarked on a transformative initiative to shape the future of our infrastructure and facilities. This e?ort resulted in voter approval of a $25 million bond package, leading to the construction of a new City Hall, Police Headquarters, Fire Station, Downtown th Streetscape, Aquatics Center, and the much-needed reconstruction of 24 Street, projects that will benefit our community for generations to come; and WHEREAS, through his work, Je?rey has demonstrated exceptional leadership, vision and a relentless pursuit of excellence, creating a lasting legacy in our city’s history; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Charles Starnes, as Mayor of the City of Plainview, Texas, and on behalf of the City Council, city sta?, and the residents of Plainview, Texas do hereby recognize and express our profound appreciation to Je?rey Snyder for the many years of dedicated service, vision, and leadership that has made a lasting impact on our community, and we wish him “Fair Winds and Following Seas” in his new endeavors. ###
