HomeMy WebLinkAbout5.05.2025 MS Board Minutes DRAFT MINUTES Downtown Plainview Main Street Program & Tourism Coordinating Board Date: Monday, May 5, 2025 – 11:30 a.m. Board Members Present: Ellysa Harris, Sheila McKay, Sabrie Villegas, Leslie Harkins, Phyllis Wall, Tiffany Wilhelm, Britni Morales, Rachel Salazar City of Plainview, Downtown Plainview Main Street Representatives: Sara Stevens, Kristi Aday Members Absent: JoAnn, Tonya Keesee, Ex-Officio Chamber of Commerce 1. Call to Order 11:40 a.m. 2. April 2025 Board Minutes – Review and Approve Sara Stevens presented the April Board meeting minutes. Phyllis Wall motioned to approve the April Board minutes. Tiffany Wilhelm voiced the second. The motion to approve the April 2025 minutes passed with a 6-0 vote. 3. Approval of the Friends of Downtown Budget Report for April 2025 Sara Stevens presented the Friends of Downtown Budget Report for April 2025. Stevens noted the receipt of the grant from Texas Tech Civic Leadership Academy, set for designated funding. Stevens also reviewed the final project costs for the Plainview ISD Window Activation. Britni Morales made a motion to approve the Friends of Downtown Budget Report for April 2025. Sheila McKay voiced the second and the motion passed 8-0, as Rachel Salazar and Sabrie Villegas entered to attend at this point of the meeting. 4. Review of current feedback on Community Survey Sara Stevens reviewed each of the Community survey questions with the accumulated 63 responses at the time of the meeting. The majority of feedback was positive with a few potential actionable ideas shared by survey responders. Upon reviewing the demographics, the Board asked to readvertise the survey with a goal of reaching a more varied audience. No action was necessary. 5. Review of current feedback on Downtown Business Survey Sara Stevens shared that the Downtown Business Survey had 6 responses at the time of the meeting. Discussion was held on how to approach businesses to be more proactive in answering the survey. Stevens discussed the overall feedback from the programming questions. No action was necessary. 6. Review of Plainview ISD Window Art Activation Project Sara Stevens showed photos and spoke about the project date, May 3rd. She also reviewed the anticipated project costs that came under budget which will allow for additional Window Activation opportunities in the future. No action was necessary 7. Update on Main Street Staffing Sara Stevens announced that she has resigned from the position as Main Street Coordinator with her last day as May 30th. 8. Action Items for Next Meeting At this time, as staff transitions, there are no action items set for the next meeting. 13. Adjourn Time: 12:30 p.m. Sara Stevens - Main Street Coordinator
