RESOLUTION NO. R26-689
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW,
TEXAS, CALLING AND SETTING THE DATE FOR THE REGULAR
MUNICIPAL ELECTION; DESIGNATING THE ELECTION OF A COUNCIL
MEMBER FOR DISTRICTS 1, 2, 3 AND 4 RESPECTIVELY;
DESIGNATING DISTRICTS AND POLLING PLACES; DESIGNATING
EARLY VOTING DATES, HOURS, AND LOCATIONS; DESIGNATING
THE DISTRICT POLLING PLACE JUDGES; SETTING THE HOURLY
RATE FOR ELECTION OFFICIALS AND POSTING NOTICE OF
ELECTION.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the statutes of the State of Texas and the Charter
of the City of Plainview, an election shall be held in and for the City of Plainview; and
WHEREAS, the election shall be held on the first Saturday in May, 2026, the same
being May 2, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Section 85.001(e) provides that for an election held on the uniform
election date in May and any resulting runoff election, the period for early voting by
personal appearance begins on the 12th day before election day and continues through
the fourth day before election day.
WHEREAS, all persons qualified to vote in said election under the Election Laws
of the State of Texas shall be allowed to vote therein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF PLAINVIEW, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1
An election shall be held in the City of Plainview, Texas on the 2nd day of May,
2026. Said election is to elect Council Members for Districts 1, 2, 3 and 4.

All electors shall vote in the voting district in which said voter resides, and at the
polling place provided for voting as designated in Section 3 of this Resolution.
SECTION 3
The election shall be held in the designated district within the City, at the
designated polling place within the district as designated below:

Voting Place: Ash Program
908 Ash Street
Plainview, Texas
CITY DISTRICT NO. 2
Voting Place: City Hall
202 W. 51h Street
Plainview, Texas
CITY DISTRICT NO. 3
Voting Place: Plainview Collegiate High School
1707 W. 11 th Street
Plainview, Texas
CITY DISTRICT NO. 4
Voting Place: Central Elementary School
800 Ennis Street
Plainview, Texas
SECTION 4
Early voting by personal appearance will be conducted each weekday at 202 W.
5th Street, Plainview, Texas between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. beginning on
April 20, 2026 and ending on April 28, 2026.

Said election shall have as its Early Voting Ballot Board presiding election judge,
Jackie Lopez. On May 2, 2026 the polling place judges will be as follows:
District 1 Polling Place Judge — Louisa Padilla
District 2 Polling Place Judge - Rachel Salazar
District 3 Polling Place Judge — Alecia Johnson
District 4 Polling Place Judge — Esperanza Crosswhite
SECTION 6
It is further provided that the hourly rate for presiding election judges shall not
exceed $16.00 per hour, and the hourly rate for clerks shall not exceed $16.00 per hour.
SECTION 7
A copy of this resolution shall also be served upon the election officials designated
to hold the election.

Notice of this election shall be given in accordance with the provisions of the Texas
Election Code and returns of such notice shall be made as provided for in said Code.
