RESOLUTION NO. R26-700
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW,
TEXAS RATIFYING AND ADOPTING LOCAL ELECTION REGISTER FOR
THE ELECTION HELD ON MAY 2, 2026 AND DECLARING THE
RESULTS OF SAID ELECTION.
WHEREAS, there was held in the City of Plainview, Texas, on May 2, 2026, a
General Election for the office of Council Member Districts 1 and 4; and
WHEREAS, there were cast for Council Member District 1 26 votes as shown on
the official election results heretofore lawfully submitted to the City Council of the City of
Plainview, Texas, and filed with the City Secretary of said City; and
WHEREAS, there were cast for Council Member District 4 110 votes as shown on
the official election results heretofore lawfully submitted to the City Council of the City of
Plainview, Texas, and filed with the City Secretary of said City; and
WHEREAS, only duly qualified resident electors of said City voted in said election
and said election was called and held in strict conformity with the laws of the State of
Texas; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Texas Election Code § 67.002, the City Council of
the City of Plainview is the proper body to canvass the election results of this general
election; and
WHEREAS, at a called meeting of the City Council with a posted agenda, the
results of said election were duly canvassed by a quorum of the City Council of the City
of Plainview, Texas, as that quorum is defined by Texas Election Code § 67.004, on May
12, 2026; and showed the following results:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Plainview that:
Section 1.
Mary Elizabeth Dickerson is hereby declared to have been elected to the Office of
Council Member District 1, receiving the majority vote.
Section 2.
Gary House is hereby declared to have been elected to the Office of Council
Member District 4, receiving the majority vote.
Section 3.
The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute, respectively, on behalf of
the City of Plainview, this Resolution adopting the local election register for the General
Election held May 2, 2026 and declaring the results of such election.
