A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLAINVIEW,
TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE EXTENTION OF A CONTPJtC~ WITH COLUMBIA
MACHINE & WEYDING FOR THE REPAIR OF REFUSE CONTAINERS.
WHEREAS, on the llth day of June, 1984, the City of Plainview
entered into an agreement with Columbia Machine & Welding to repair,
sandblast, and repaint refuse containers owned and used by the City and
its waste disposal program; and
WHEREAS, in said contract the parties agreed that a minimum of
forty-four (44) three (3) or four (4) yard containers and/or seventeen
(17) eight (8) yard containers would be repaired, sandblasted and
repainted by Columbia Machine and Welding; and
WHEREAS, the City has determined that it is not practical to
deliver forty-four (44) three (3) or four (4) yard containers per week
and/or seventeen (17) eight (8) yard containers per week to Columbia
Machine and Welding for repair and there is desire to reduce the number
of containers which the contractor will repair per week; and
WHEREAS, the contract dated the llth day of June, 1984, entered
into between the parties provides for a renewal of said' contract at the
option of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City and Columbia Machine & Welding desire to renew
and extend the contract for an additional period of time for the purpose
of allowing the City to reduce the number of refuse containers which are
to be furnished to Columbia Machine & Welding on a weekly basis and for
the purpose of increasing the number of containers to be repaired by
Columbia Machine & Welding.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Plainview, Texas that the Mayor be authorized to execute a contract,
with terms and conditions approved by the City Council extending the
contract dated the llth day of June, 1984, with Columbia Machine and
Welding o
