A RESOLUTION OF THE CITYCOUNCIL OF THE CITYOF PLA1/qVIEW,
TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE CHIRV OF POLICE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
OF PLAINVIEWTOF!LEAGRANTAPPLICATION FOR LAW~NqFORCEMEhYf
ASSISTANCE FRC~ THE CPJ_MINAL JUSTICE DMSION OF THE
GOVERNOR'S OFFICE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS.
WHEREAS, Grant funds are available throughthe Criminal Justice
Division of the Governor's Office of the State of Texas to provide
assistance to law enforcement agencies to combat the increase of
criminal activity; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department currently is receiving funds to
provide for a Crime Prevention Unit consisting of one police officer,
and the expiration of the current grant is August 30, 1985; and
~HEREAS, the Police Department is in need of funds to continue the
program for the next fiscal year, and funds are available to continue
the program:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLV~Dbythe City Council of the City of
Plainview, Texas that the Police Chief be authorized toexecute and
submit a grant application for the above described programto promote
continued improvement of law enforcement within the City of Plainview.
