Dear Gene:
At the Steering Committee meeting in Lubbock on July llth, we
voted to ask the seven (7) largest cities on the Energas system
to share in paying our consultants up to date. We felt it was
not appropriate to ask them to wait over a year for their fees.
The case started in December of 1984 and we don't anticipate
finishing it until early 1986 because of the complexities that
have become involved.
The total statements (bills) through June will approximate
$20,000. The hearing examiner has told Westar that they will be
responsible for these bills ultimately, but normally this isn't
paid until the case ends. In this case, we would expect you to
be refunded in early 1986.
The seven cities and their assessment are as follows:
City Meters Assessment
Lubbock 55,631 $ 8,100
Odessa 29,825 $ 4,350
Midland 26,537 $ 3,900
Big Spring 8,823 $ 1,300
Plainview 7,764 $ 1,20-0
Levelland 5,247 $ 800
Brownfield 3,825 $ 555
TOTAL $20,205
Please make your check in the amount of $1,200.00 out to the City
of Midland and show on the stub that it is for the Energas case.
Please call me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Fred W. Poe
